Through the module of Motion Graphic and Effect (MGE). I had learnt how to use after effect from scratch. At the very first lesson., I was taught what are the 9 different types of motion graphics. As times passes, I had learnt what are some of the effect and method that are usually use in the video we see in daily lives. I had also learnt how a actual production is and what are some of the ways that can help the process. MGE is a module that allows me to do magical stuff such as typography. I had never thought that I will be able to come out with my own typography video even though it is not well done but it is what I had put in my effort to do. I had also never know that I will be able to make a room from day to night by using colour correction. MGE, allows me to do things that I had never encounter before.

This module allows me to think further whenever I am watching a movie or music video. I will start to think what are the effect used or what are some of the things that I can learn so that I can use in After Effect when I need it next time. I also had taught me to understand majority tutorial given in classes and in the net are useful when I am in doubt or doesn't how to do.

Even though there are part where I feel like giving up cause I really don't understand how to do or don't understand how to do it, but I had manage to get through and I had learnt and receive a lot tips and techniques.

Final Product of Project 2

The video below is the final video that my group mates ad I had come out together. Although I think that is a job well done. However I understand that there are still room for improvement, especially for my part. Over the few weeks of working with Yu Lin and Jared, I must say that I had learn a lot from both of them as both of them are very knowledgeable. They had help me a lot through the whole procedure of doing this project. Doing this project had allow me to learnt what are the stages of a production. Although some things and techniques are taught during MOS last semester. However, it in use in shown and use in MGE this semester. For our final video, we decided to add in sub-titles a it will better aid our viewers and they will have a better understanding of what our story is about.

Process of Project 2- Effects(Post-Production)

This is what I had done for my part in the group work. I had added in the voice over and the zooming of the eye and also the wound that I had previously mention in my previous post. I had made a very mild colour correction. I could not make the whole adjustment of the video too dark as later the scene in the room will be too dark and nothing can be seen. The video below is what I had done.

Week 14 Practical

For this week's practical, I decided to look for tutorials that teaches me how to use the mocha tracking effect in After Effect. I had learnt about this mocha effect through Jared as he taught me that this will be an alternative way that I can consider using it to track Mannan's eye, so that it can help me in my zooming effect. Through this tutorial I had learn that track mocha uses many different points to track. It tracks using a part instead of using just a point like the normal tracking. Therefore, this will help the the tracking to be more accurate and stable.

The picture below is use to made the flesh or wound on Jared's back after he was being stab. In order to make the flesh to be more realistic, I use a solid new layer and mask out the size of the wound and import the layer of picture in. By using the effect of alpha matte to the picture. I am able to make the picture to show only the parts that i have mask. With a little of colour correction, i made the flesh to some what blend in into the scene.

When we are done with our filming, we are supposed to edit our video and come our with the entire video sequence. The video below shows the primary version of editing.

Process of Project 2 --- Filming (Production)

After Our pre-production is being approved, we start off with our production. During our filming, we had invited Raymond and Mannan to help us in filming and acting in our video. Through the process of filming, I had learnt a lot through the process. I had learnt that how well the pre-production is done, the production will be smoother. With a well planned story board, we had not really faced any major problems during the filming. My group mates and I meet up in school and we started our filming at around 10am. We are lucky enough to found a venue which is close enough to our storyboard. During the filming, I was being introduced to the glide cam. I have never use a glide cam before hence I feel quite excited about it. After much asking about the glide cam. I finally understand that the glide cam is use to reduce the amount of shakiness and the motion of the camera. I am very glad and thankful with Raymond, Mannan and of course my two other two group mates that help and make the filming such a success. Through this experience of filming I had learnt the different types of angle view and how are some of the small techniques that can be use during filming to ease the process of post-production, such as tracking.

Start of Project 2 - Introduction & Storyboard (Pre-Production)

Introduction 

For MGE project 2, I'm grouping with 2 of my classmates they are Yu Lin and Jared. First of all when our groupings are confirmed. We come together to decide on what are some of the possible ideas that we can come out with. After much discussion, we had decided to do on a mystery story where the three of us are detective in our own story.

Storyboard

The storyboard below shows the sequence of our story. The story is split into three main different component. Each detectives come out with their own theory on how the crime was taken place. Therefore, my group mates and I had an individual part to edit. This storyboard is done at Jared's house where the three of us meet up and decide on what the sequence of our own parts will be.
